The Sabbath School Ministries Department provides full religious education for church members of all ages, including Sabbath School bible study guides and material for programming on Saturday mornings and other activities during the rest of the week. The department also supplies training and resources to local teachers of religious education and other members, promotes personal and world missions, and designs programs and resources to equip and train members to minister to and serve their communities.
The Sabbath school is an important branch of the missionary work, not only because it gives to young and old knowledge of God’s word, but because it awakens in them a love for its sacred truths, and a desire to study them for themselves; it teaches them to regulate their lives by its holy teachings.”(Counsels on Sabbath School Work, p.115)
“The Sabbath school, if rightly conducted, is one of God’s great instrumentalities to bring souls to a knowledge of the truth” – (Counsels on Sabbath School Work, p.115)
The Amoam-Achiase Seventh -day Adventist church members see themselves among the remnant church. The congregation really loves the Bible. Every Sabbath, several hundreds of the church members including non-Adventists meet at 9:00am for Bible studies. In our church, we call it “Sabbath School Lesson Study.” We study the Word of God for guidance in our lives.
The Sabbath School is the primary religious education system of the Amoam-Achiase Seventh-day Adventist Church which provides the opportunity for church members to meet and study God’s Word. It also provides a sense of fellowship. Sabbath School is a good opportunity for members to get to know each other well and express ones thought especially with regards to the lessons discussed. This Bible discussion produces more mature Christians who speak with confidence about their faith. For many people, Sabbath School is the high point of their Sabbath observance and has been aptly named the “heart of the Church”.
