The Youth Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church coordinates youth ministry planning and resources between world church regions, and helps youth leaders evaluate and monitor the results of their programming. The department conducts training seminars, workshops, and congresses for both department and specialized ministries in church regions around the world.
“We have an army of youth today who can do much if they are properly directed and encouraged. We want them to be blessed of God. We want them to act a part in well-organized plans for helping other youth” Ellen G. White, in General Conference Bulletin, Jan. 29, 30, 1893, p. 24.
Our youth department promotes a church-centred and a spiritual-recreational-activity program which is designed for young people as well as older people. Each member is given the opportunity to further develop their God given talent in an area within the department. The youth department is filled with action, adventure, challenge, group activities and provides opportunities for the development of new attitudes and skills that produce personal growth, team or community spirit, a sense of loyalty and respect for God, His Creation and His church.
The Aim of the Adventist Youth Society is: “The Advent Message to All the World in My Generation.”
The Motto is: “The Love of Christ Constrains Me”
To lead the youth to understand their individual worth and to discover and develop their spiritual gifts and abilities.
To equip and empower the youth for a life of service with God’s church and the community.
To ensure the integration of the youth into all aspects of church life and leadership in order that they might be full participants in the mission of the Church.
